Wampanoag Room
Queen Bed, First Floor
Our Wampanoag is a cheerful ground-floor room, located in what was formerly the Haffenreffer pool house. This room features a double bed, a spacious ensuite bath, and a small dressing/sitting room. There are no common areas in South Pasture House, but guests are welcome to enjoy coffee or snacks in the small kitchen and foyer located in the center portion of the building. The Wampanoag Room has its own thermostat and a window-mounted air conditioner during the summer months.
The name, Wampanoag, means People of the First Light. The Wampanoag people were native to this land before the European colonists arrived. Although the wars and diseases that came with the colonists were disastrous to the native people, the Wampanoags have survived to this day. They continue to work together to maintain their sovereignty, history, and culture.
