Our Grounds

The Farm is meant for walking. Stroll our path to our rustic Cove Cabin. Sit a moment to admire Mount Hope Bridge. And don’t head home without saying hello to our farm animals. Mount Hope Farm is a perfect destination whenever you want to spend time enjoying nature as it transforms through the seasons. Depending on when you visit, you may find snow-laden trees, budding gardens, sailboats on the Bay or colorful autumn leaves. Each exploration of our 127-acres will acquaint you with new vistas and aspects of the Farm.

As you explore our upper property you will find our Governor Bradford House, built in 1745, and its tiered gardens in the rear. Our other Inn building – North Pasture Guest House is nearby. Behind our Civil War-era Barn, you’ll find our farm animals. Our North Pasture includes our Growing 4 Good Garden, while our South Pasture is the summer home of our weekly Farmers Market as well as our new Lavender Parterre

We invite you to walk the paved roadway by our ponds and future Celebration Grove to the shore of Mount Hope Bay where you will find our rustic Cove Cabin, a popular venue for weddings and other celebrations. This walk is about one mile each way and there are opportunities to stop, sit and enjoy the Farm’s beauty.

Recently, there have been some questions from the community regarding the walking trail at Mount Hope Farm. Mount Hope Farm would like to ensure that the community that our main walking trail at the farm remains open to visitors to walk or ride bicycles as it has been for many years. There are new signs posted on either side of the road in recognition of land that was returned to the Pokanoket Tribe by Brown University.  It is important that all farm guests remain on the main road and not travel into the areas which are designed as No Trespassing Pokanoket Tribe as that is private property not owned by the farm.  Respect for the adjacent property is important to Mount Hope Farm. Thank you for helping us maintain a space that is welcoming, respectful, and open to all.
