Our Celebration Grove

One of Mount Hope Farm’s newest endeavors is a 'Plant a Tree' project, with a focus on an area of the property located around our freshwater ponds, designated as Celebration Grove. The goal of the project is two fold, to establish a diverse collection of specimen trees, pathways and seating which will provide a tranquil and reflective environment for our visitors, and to help ensure the next generation of trees within the Mt. Hope Farm Arboretum's collection.

The Celebration Grove Plant a Tree program offers friends of the Farm (or members of the community) an opportunity to sponsor the planting of a tree to commemorate an event such as a wedding, milestone birthday, or to honor or memorialize a loved one. Sponsors can choose the type of tree to plant from a diverse list of species (including bald cypress, crapemyrtle, dogwood, holly, magnolia, styrax, among many others), and each tree will be labeled with the common and Latin names, and commemorative text including the name(s) of those being honored.

A team of Farm volunteers, staff and landscape designers have developed a plan that enables the thoughtful placement of trees among walkable, lawns and fields, and for visitors to relax and enjoy the wildlife that regularly visit our ponds. The specimen trees are sourced and planted by Samuel Kinder and Brother Nursery, a long time local family business collaborating with the Farm on this special project.
