Bristol Land Conservation Trust's Native Tree Walk

  • Mount Hope Farm 250 Metacom Ave Bristol United States (map)

Join the Bristol Land Conservation Trust Monday, June 1, 2026 at Mount Hope Farm, 250 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for a guided tree walk with well-known arborist Matt “Twig” Largess - Voice of the Forest. Matt is a seasoned arborist and travels the eastern seaboard in search of Champion Trees in Old Growth Forests.

On this walk we will focus on some of the significant trees at Mount Hope Farm (MHF), many of which are native to the U.S. Thanks to the Farm staff, Matt Largess and volunteers, Mount Hope Farm is now a designated arboretum.

We’ll learn what makes a healthy tree, their role in nature, and some of the common threats. If you’re not a tree hugger now, you’ll be after this walk. Meet at the barn at 5:15 p.m. and wear comfortable walking shoes. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

There is a $15 charge, maximum of $25 for families payable at the door; BLCT members are free, cash or check. Parking is in the main parking area below the barn. The rain date is Tuesday, June 2, same time. For questions, contact Ray Payson at 401-225-4903 or email the BLCT at BristolLandTrust@gmail.com.
