The Barn

Our circa 1860 Barn is one of the oldest buildings on our property. An important component of our 19th-century working Farm, the Haffenreffer family, the Farm’s private owners for much of the 20th century, used the Barn for games and parties.

The Barn is charming, yet polished, with open, airy space, a tall ceiling, and varnished wood floors. It can easily be transformed from a rustic, country style to a magical fairyland with twinkle lights and flowing fabrics.

The Barn has a fully operational kitchen, heat and air conditioning, and restrooms. In the winter months, our guests are invited to take advantage of the warmth and ambiance of the Barn’s gas fireplace, adding one more perfect touch to your special event.

The venue is especially charming when the authentic barn door is open, offering a full view of the beautiful ceremonial gardens and fields of the historic Governor Bradford House. Many of our wedding couples choose to have their ceremony in the gardens, enjoying the area for cocktails prior to arriving in the Barn for dinner and dancing.

The Barn has a strict capacity of 140 guests. The suggested capacity is 120 guests, as this allows for a dance floor and a flexible dinner service style.
