Lavender Parterre

Mount Hope Farm is thrilled to unveil its blossoming new lavender parterre, a collaboration that weaves together beauty, community, and the promise of new beginnings. This garden features a striking anchor shape crafted from rare white lavender – a symbol of hope and a nod to Rhode Island's maritime heritage – complemented by various shades of purple and blue lavender.

Designed by Blaise Rein of Water Way Lavender Farm, a family-owned Barrington business, this "formalized garden" invites visitors to meander and enjoy its calming fragrance. The project is a testament to the power of partnerships, with significant help from dedicated volunteers from BayCoast Bank and the wider community, who recently completed the planting of hundreds of lavender plants.

This vibrant new addition serves multiple purposes: it acts as a vital pollinator magnet for bees (while also being deer-resistant!), enhances the Farm's stunning landscape, and creates a peaceful spot for visitors to wander. Looking ahead, Mount Hope Farm, in partnership with Water Way Lavender Farm, envisions offering lavender-inspired products, engaging classes on its many household uses, and even "pick-your-own" events, allowing the community to truly embrace the beauty and versatility of lavender.

This project is more than just a garden; it's a growing symbol of hope and community collaboration, inspiring the imagery of lavender blooming across the East Bay.
