For Kids

market-earth-day-030The Board and staff at Mount Hope Farm believe that community engagement is the key to mission success. Children and youth are at the heart of our efforts to provide fun, educational programs that promote social responsibility, community service, a deep and abiding respect for the world and each other.

Over the course of each year, the Farm offers many family friendly activities for our members and visitors to enjoy. These include special events, such as our Annual Farmfest and partner events like RI Land Trust Days. Our Farmers Market, held each Saturday, often features kids crafts and entertainment, a “one stop shop” for greens and good happenings!

In 2014, Mount Hope Farm launched its first 4H Clubs. With six staff and volunteers trained by the RI 4-H Foundation, our clubs meet bi-weekly and support growing, learning and social fun for kids ages 5-17. In 2015, the Farm will host several 4-H SPIN Series, special interest workshops on topics including theater, business, animal husbandry, and cooking. For those wishing to learn more, check our Green Fields page. Interested in starting a 4-H Club in your neighborhood? Visit the RI 4-H website.

There’s a lot going on so we recommend getting on our mailing list (email the office to join our mailing list) and checking out our Home Page often. Whether it’s attending a special event or activity, signing your child up for camp or simply bringing your family to walk the grounds and visit with our barnyard friends, we’ll be glad to see you.
